Resident Spotlight: Shirley Tuttle

Shirley Tuttle moved to Lamar Court in May of 2018. Shirley said, “My girls chose Lamar Court. They looked at several other senior living communities,” she said, “but Lamar Court was by far the best.”

What She Likes Best

“What I love most about Lamar Court is that it is a small community and the staff is friendly and helpful.”

Shirley is from Rhode Island where she was on the faculty of a private boys school in Providence. Her husband, Warren, from Columbia, MO, was a professor in medical science in California and Kansas City. They have two daughters who live in the Kansas City area, one in Springfield, MO and a son who resides in California. Before her husband’s passing away, they lived for 40 years in a house down the street from Lamar Court. Shirley’s main interests are music and art. She had a calligraphy business called Inspirational Inscriptions.

What would she say to someone considering Lamar Court? “I’d say, they would enjoy it, the camaraderie, and they would be pleased with how friendly the neighbors and staff are.”

A Beautiful Woman Inside and Out

Shirley enjoys being an Ambassador at Lamar Court because she says, “I like to be able to help others.”

When asked what she would like people to know about her, she said, “I know the Lord. I’m friendly, outgoing and very old,” she laughed, “I am 95.”
