Resident Spotlight: Bill Howard

Bill Howard has been a resident of Lamar Court for one year. He is friendly, polite and a true gentleman, and luckily, he is also one of our Ambassadors. He chose Lamar Court because he needed nursing care after brain surgery to maintain his health.

A People Place

Bill most enjoys being around people and being available to his wife of 67 years, Pat. Lamar Court was designed to appeal to seniors’ needs to socialize and gather with people. Beautifully appointed common areas make it easy to meet neighbors, visit with family or sit back and relax in the company of others.

A Teacher and Counselor

He is from Denver and spent 39 years in Kansas as a teacher and counselor. Bill taught history and government. He says his career was the “best there is!”

What are some of Bill’s favorite pastimes? He said he enjoyed golf, church work and his work as a lay speaker. He also sang in the choir as a low tenor in the United Methodist Church.

Bill has four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. “You get to spoil them to death, then send them home,” Bill adds with a laugh.
