The friendly and approachable people are the best part of living at Lamar Court according to resident Altan Kodanaz. She has lived at Lamar Court for over two years. Her son made the selection, and she is happy with his choice. She says, “I like that Lamar Court is close to my family, so it is convenient for them to visit.”

Located near Corporate Woods in Overland Park, our assisted living community is near everything southern Johnson County has to offer, including quick access to upscale shopping, entertainment, hospitals and medical facilities.

PhD in Neuroscience

She has a PhD in neuroscience and was a clinician. She saw clients with memory loss or head injuries. “I was able to help some people, especially with brain injuries. I got them back on their feet,” she said.

Altan was born in Turkey and came to the United States as a Fulbright Scholar. What does she miss most? “I miss the climate, fresh seafood and being by the sea.”

Altan’s Background

She was a tennis player and began horseback riding as a young girl on her grandfather’s ranch.

She likes being an Ambassador at Lamar Court because, “It gives me a chance to meet people and orientate them.”
